Spring Fling an Original Painting by Lisa Godin

Spring Fling is an original mixed media painting by Lisa Godin, known for her vibrant floral compositions.  In February and March, I begin to long for gardening. I plan what I'll add to my gardens this year and which annuals I'll place in the many pots and flower boxes I lovingly set out each year. Just like my late winter longing for gardening, I always yearn to paint spring flowers.

This painting started with the vase and the desire to capture spring blooms. I loved this little worn blue-green terracotta vase I saw somewhere in my travels, and it stuck in my memory. Then I began looking at spring flowers like hellebores, cherry blossoms, and tulips. The rest was added based on available space and the colors in my palette. Its rich colors and textured brushwork reflect the renewal of spring, offering color and texture to any collection.
